Important Government Affiliation Disclaimer

Tetology is not a government application and does not represent any government entity. Tetology is an independent private educational platform. It is not operated, sponsored, endorsed, affiliated with, or officially authorised by any government department, board, commission, authority or public body. Always verify official notifications, eligibility, examination dates, results, recruitment rules and government updates from the relevant official government website or published source.

1. Information we collect

When you use Tetology, the following information may be processed depending on the features and services you use:

  • Account identity: name, mobile number, email address, password hash and verification status.
  • Profile information: optional profile photo, date of birth, gender, address, guardian/contact information, academic qualifications and education-related details that you choose to provide.
  • Authentication & security: OTP challenge records, session identifiers, device/browser information, IP-derived security hashes, login/session history and account-security events.
  • Course & learning activity: selected or enrolled courses, notes viewed, learning progress, saved items, practice activity, test/exam attempts, scores, results and performance information.
  • Payments & subscriptions: course plan, order/payment/subscription status, amounts, transaction references, refund/dispute information and limited billing records. Sensitive card or UPI credentials are handled by the applicable payment provider and are not intentionally stored as raw payment credentials by Tetology.
  • Notifications & support: push subscription data, notification delivery/activity, feedback, complaints, support requests and related communications.

2. Why we use your information

  • Create, verify and secure your student account.
  • Enforce single-device login security and automatically revoke older sessions when a new verified device logs in.
  • Provide courses, notes, videos, live classes, practice, mock tests, live exams and student progress features.
  • Process subscriptions, payments, refunds, wallet/support operations and transaction disputes.
  • Send OTPs, security alerts, course notifications, class/test reminders and service communications.
  • Prevent misuse, fraud and unauthorised access, and protect platform integrity.
  • Maintain records required for legal, accounting, tax, audit or dispute-resolution obligations.
  • Improve reliability, student experience and aggregate learning analytics.

3. Service providers and data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Where necessary, data may be processed by trusted service providers such as hosting/infrastructure providers, email/OTP delivery providers, Google Play/Android services, payment gateway or billing providers such as Razorpay, and notification delivery services. Data may also be disclosed when required by applicable law or lawful authority, for fraud prevention or security investigation, or to protect users and the service.

4. Payments

Tetology may use payment providers for paid educational services. The payment provider's own privacy and security terms may apply. Tetology may retain transaction references, payment status, plan, amount, invoice/refund/dispute-related records; raw card credentials or payment authentication secrets are not intentionally stored in our application database.

5. Device & single-device security

A student account may be restricted to one active device at a time. When a successful password + OTP login occurs on a new device, the previous active session is revoked. Device/browser/session-related identifiers or hashed technical signals may be processed for security and fraud prevention.

6. Data retention

Information is retained only for as long as reasonably needed for the relevant feature and purpose. OTP and temporary security data may be short-lived; active-account profile and learning data may be retained while the account is active. After account deletion, direct personal profile and authentication data is deleted or de-identified. Payment, refund, invoice, fraud-prevention, audit or transaction-dispute records may be retained for a limited period where required by law, contract, accounting or legitimate dispute-resolution needs. Retained records remain access-controlled and are not reused for new marketing/profile purposes.

7. Account & data deletion

You can request account deletion from Account → More Options → Delete Account in the app, or from the public deletion page in any browser:

https://tetology.in/TetologyAPI/account-deletion/

Identity verification is required. Once a deletion request is accepted, active sessions are revoked and account access is closed. Direct personal account/profile/authentication data is normally deleted or de-identified within 7 days. Limited transaction records may be retained only where legitimately required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention or dispute purposes.

8. Your choices and rights

  • View your profile information and edit permitted fields.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Control non-essential notifications where those controls are available.
  • Request account deletion.
  • Contact support about privacy concerns, data requests or unauthorised transaction disputes.

9. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards including HTTPS, password hashing, OTP verification, secure HttpOnly authentication cookies, single-device session revocation, access controls and server-side validation. No online system is completely risk-free. If you notice suspicious activity, contact support promptly and never share your OTP or password with anyone.

10. Children and student use

Educational courses may be used by learners of different ages. Where parental or guardian consent is required by applicable law, the user or guardian must ensure that consent is provided. The service is not designed to knowingly collect unnecessary personal information.

11. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the service, legal requirements or data practices change. For material changes, we will publish an updated revision date and may provide an in-app notice where appropriate.
